Delete your account in the Avway app

1. Open Avway and tap the Profile tab.
2. Under Account, tap Edit Profile.
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account Permanently.
4. On iPhone, in the Delete Account confirmation prompt, type DELETE and tap Delete. On Android, in the Delete Account prompt, tap Delete Permanently.

Request deletion without the app

Email info@avwayguestbook.com from the email address on your Avway account and ask us to permanently delete your Avway account. If you signed up with a phone number, include that number. We may ask you to confirm that the request comes from the account holder.

What is deleted

• Your sign-in details, verification codes and every signed-in session.
• Your profile: name, email address, phone number, location, age and profile photo. Kept event content is no longer shown with your name.
• Your direct messages, sent and received, with their photos, videos, voice messages and reactions.
• Your drafts, notifications, likes, blocks, and the events you joined as a guest or co-host.
• Promo codes you redeemed and sticker or filter packs you bought.

What is kept

Some data stays because other people share it or because we need it for our records. Kept event content is no longer shown with your name.

• Events you hosted, and the posts (including their photos, videos and voice notes) and comments you added to any event, so the other guests keep their guestbook. They are no longer shown with your name.
• New photos, videos and voice notes still upload when the event is over its storage limit. Photos and videos appear blurred. These over-limit uploads are deleted automatically 48 hours later unless the host deletes content or upgrades storage.
• Purchase records, including the App Store receipt or Google Play purchase token, plus gifts and promo codes bought by the deleted account, for seven years after the purchase or creation date. A gift is deleted on that schedule when either its buyer or its recipient account has been deleted.
• Reports naming the deleted account as reporter, reported user or the host who resolved the report, and moderation records naming it as target user or moderator, for two years after that account is deleted.
• Guestbook download files. They are kept, their emailed links do not expire and work while the files remain available, and we delete the files on request.
• A record with no personal details that shows the account existed.

The retention clock starts when an event is created or when its plan is upgraded. Free events are archived 30 days after creation. Event Pass events are archived one year after creation or the Event Pass upgrade. Premium events are archived 7 days after the host cancels Premium in the app, and in any case no later than 10 years after Premium activation. An archived event is view-only; its event content is not deleted by archiving. These rules also apply to events hosted by a deleted account.
